New range of exotic spice blends launched in Australia
[Tue 17/11/2009 09:08:25]
After much anticipation, the ready-to-cook spice blends from Sami’s Kitchen were officially released in Australia last week and have been celebrated as the latest retail concept in creating home cooked, gourmet cuisine.
The range springs from the celebrated Sami’s Kitchen café in Christchurch, New Zealand, which has been renowned for its exotic, Middle Eastern dishes for two decades.
“What started off as a family recipe book project last Christmas has now turned into an international premium food brand,” explains Hayssam Bejjani, who played an instrumental role in bringing his mother’s recipes for the spice blends to Australia.
“We have created a range of four beautiful spice blends, which are produced locally following authentic recipes handed down through generations. These versatile blends are designed for traditional and easy-to-replicate Lebanese and Middle Eastern meals.”
Additional spice blends from Sami’s Kitchen are due to be launched in 2010 and the online store offers recipes specifically geared towards Australian food-lovers, with options to barbeque dishes.
The recent revitalisation in home cooking has seen spice blends emerge as more than mere ingredients and instead come to represent healthy lifestyle choices for busy households and professionals.
Spice blends provide an effective way to create maximum impact with minimum effort and infuse meals with exotic flavours in line with Australia’s multicultural food values.
Known as the MasterChef phenomenon, Australians have witnessed a resurgence in home cooking this year and despite the global downturn, many delicatessens and gourmet kitchenware retailers have emerged from the crisis relatively unscathed.
