Beautifully Handcrafted Bags
[Wed 25/11/2009 09:17:50]
Paveen and his wife, Sushma work together at Noah’s Ark, India- a fair trade organization that partners with Care and Share Products, sewing these beautifully crafted bags. They carefully piece together saris that are no longer worn, creating bright, beautiful bags, wall hangings and cushions that show off the wonderful artistry of the material, giving new life and appreciation for the intricate designs.
Noah’s Ark is a fair trade certified organization based in Northern India. They work with grassroots artisans, giving them the opportunity to continue the beautiful work of making handicrafts using traditional Indian techniques. Each artisan is supported, and paid fair wages, enabling their work to flourish, and the skills to be passed on to future generations
