Feed The Dog enjoys successful sale with online promotion
[Mon 01/02/2010 10:51:38]
The creative online homewares company Feed The Dog has reported successful results for its January sale, which was promoted online courtesy of an email campaign sent out to the company’s database.
“This was the first time I've done a sale via email mailout so I don't really have anything to compare it with,” says Feed The Dog’s Carmel Killin.
“That said, I was really pleased with the response given that my expectations were quite low. Most of my sales were to return customers and there were a couple of new customers.”
Online promotions and email campaigns are frequently lauded as an indispensable promotional tool for retailers, who are increasingly conducting business through online channels.
The email sent out to Feed The Dog clients advertised several special offers, including a free screen printed and appliquéd tote bag with the first 10 purchases, free shipping within Australia or free feather inserts included with cushion orders and 20 per cent off one-off and limited edition designs.
The Sydney-based company embellished the email campaign with graphics inspired by the iconic cityscape of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and featured images of Feed The Dog’s artistic homewares.
