New creative label 2T Designs launches Australian made fashion bags
[Tue 02/02/2010 03:18:39]
Celebrated as the pinnacle of creativity, the new fashion and accessories label 2T Designs has launched an iconic collection of handbags designed and made on Australian soil, which embrace the durability and versatility of rubber as their main material.
Designed by Tutti and Paul Bennett, the collection will be officially launched at Sydney’s Fashion Exposed Bags and Accessories Fair at Darling Harbour from February 14 to 16.
“We were inspired by an idea we saw in New York more than 15 years ago, and we kept it in the back of our minds to one day develop,” says Paul.
The couple affectionately refers to their new creative venture as a “sea change” from a 30-year career in advertising.
“We certainly drew on our design experience over all those years, Tutti from her fashion background and me from my graphic design skills,” Paul explains.
“Our vision is to see 2T Designs become a leader in the Australian accessories market with great export potential. The important thing for us is that we remain Australian made.”
The silhouette of each rubber bag is inspired by the shape of various animals and the collection includes a small puppy handbag and a larger dog companion, a fish bag and a cat-shaped creation, a chook handbag and a pig-shaped tote.
The new range also features designs for customers with more conservative palettes, including classic round and oval rubber bags.
2T Designs also has an exciting new range of jewellery in the pipeline, which alongside the company's collection of handbags will explore the limitless design possibilities of silver and rubber or ethyl vinyl acetate (EVA).
