As part of the partnership, Mattel has created exclusive, custom-designed Make-A-Wish Barbie dolls and Make-A-Wish Hot Wheels cars that will be given to Wish kids around the world. The toys will be used as special gifts for children as they begin their Wish experience.
“We’re pleased to join with a company such as Mattel, whose goal is also to bring happiness to children,” said Sandy Brattstrom, CEO of Make-A-Wish Australia.
“These popular dolls and cars will help our Wish-granting volunteers break the ice with courageous children as we begin to create their incredible Wish experiences.
Mattel gives back two per cent of pre-tax profit through philanthropic programs such as the company’s Global Signature Partner program, which was relaunched in 2005 to dedicate the maximum Mattel resources around its core philanthropic vision and values.
“We are proud to support Make-A-Wish in Australia,” said Steve Totzke, vice president and general manager of Mattel Australia.
“The partnership is a sign of Mattel’s commitment to bringing hope and joy to children experiencing life-threatening conditions.”
Make-A-Wish Australia will be celebrating its 25th Anniversary in 2010 and has so far granted over 5,900 wishes to Australian children.
