Gymboree opens new store in Sydney's Westfield Eastgardens
[Tue 20/07/2010 04:10:04]
The US children’s apparel chain Gymboree Corporation has continued its expansion into Australia’s retail sector by opening a second store last week in Sydney’s Westfield Eastgardens shopping centre.
“Following the strong opening of our first store at Parramatta, we are excited to open our second Gymboree clothing store in Australia and provide our customers in New South Wales with another premier location to shop our high quality children's fashion,” says chairman and CEO, Matthew McCauley.
The San Francisco-based company offers apparel, outerwear, shoes and accessories for newborns and children up to the age of 12 and is one of many US brands expected to enter the Australian retail market in the next 12 months.
Gymboree Corporation now operates 1,003 stores in total, with the two Sydney-based Australian stores the first the brand has opened outside the Americas.
A total of 630 Gymboree stores are trading worldwide, with 593 in the US, 34 in Canada and two in Puerto Rica alongside the two now operating in Australia.
The company also owns 146 Gymboree Outlet shops, 118 Janie and Jack stores, 108 Crazy 8 retail outlets in the US as well as online stores for each of the three brands, www.gymboree.com, www.janieandjack.com and www.crazy8.com
