Catherine Manuell Design hosts Melbourne Spring Fashion Week event
[Tue 07/09/2010 10:08:25]
Catherine Manuell Design (CMD) last Thursday celebrated Melbourne Spring Fashion Week with a Laneway Discovery Evening, an open event held at CMD’s city store for the brand’s fans and passing shoppers as well as luggage, bag and accessory enthusiasts.
“We used it to launch our very colourful spring/summer range and created a rainbow theme that we incorporated into our windows,” explains Catherine Manuell, who founded her eponymous brand a decade ago.
CMD’s recently released spring collection was showered with attention from attendees, who responded warmly to the ornate patterns, elegant style and splashes of colour the new collection of accessories, bags and luggage exhibits.
“It was also the first time Penny Welsh, one of our visual merchandisers, dressed our city store windows, so really it was an opportunity to celebrate the spring/summer range and Penny’s work,” Manuell says.
Held at CMD’s Melbourne city store on Little Lonsdale Street, the celebration took place during the store’s opening hours and kicked off with French champagne, cupcakes, cookies, door prizes and gift bags.
“It was enjoyable to be part of the fashion week’s events, our city laneway store was part of the Melbourne fashion buzz and the week always creates its own energy,” says Manuell.
The Laneway Discovery Evening was successful in aligning CMD with Melbourne Spring Fashion Week, further cementing the brand’s reputation as being in vogue as well as promoting the label in the eyes of consumers.
CMD has long displayed a creative marketing strategy with products securing appearances on numerous television programs such as Australia’s Next Top Model and the brand being embraced by celebrities such as Zac Efron and Daniel Radcliffe.
“PR is hugely important to let people know about our products and broaden our market,” Manuell explains.
