Noritake blitzes Sydney consumers with annual warehouse sale
[Wed 24/11/2010 08:47:49]
The Australian arm of Japanese fine porcelain and diningware brand, Noritake, opened its doors to consumers earlier this month for the company’s annual warehouse sale, which was a roaring success.
“Noritake’s warehouse sale is one of those ‘rare beasts’ being a genuine clearance event, so we hold it only once a year,” explains Steven Yeend of Noritake.
With both current and discontinued stock on sale, the annual event drew crowds from across Sydney and many a Christmas-focused shopper.
The sale, which was held at Noritake’s warehouse in Sydney, spanned two weekends of November 6 and 7 and November 13 and 14.
Noritake is one of a growing number of companies that has adopted a pre-Christmas sale period in lieu of the traditional January sales.
“November is ideal for annual events like our warehouse sale,” says Yeend.
“People are really ‘shopping focused’ at this time of year and the idea of grabbing a bargain is almost irresistible.”
While Noritake’s perennially popular Arctic White collection of diningware has dominated previous years’ warehouse sales, the company’s newly released Colorwave collection proved a strong contender as a best-seller, with consumers opting for the stylish stoneware in bold colours of raspberry, graphite or blue instead of traditional white porcelain.
