Stationery queen Cristina Re has expanded her product range to include tea cups and pots with the launch of the High Tea collection.
Re says her love of collecting vintage porcelain inspired her to design the pieces.
“Designing a homeware line was the natural progression for me,” she says. “I love the idea that everything on a table can coordinate, from stationery and table settings to china.
“I loved to collect porcelain antiques from flea markets around the world and found myself featuring my delicate vintage tea cups collections in many of my stationery photo shoots - this led me to think about designing my own line to match my designer papers,” she explains.
Available products include tea pots and cups in pastels, black or white with gold trim and fine tea blends such as exotic licorice. Re wanted the pieces to have a vintage feel yet look modern and elegant and suited to any taste.
Normally known for its wedding stationery designer products, the brand’s new range has been created just at the right time with the popularity of high tea booming.
“High tea is a very old tradition and has been popular in Europe for many years. I think the people of Australia have finally embraced this tradition,” Re explains.
“The act of having high tea is all about indulging in life’s little pleasures and celebrating life and love with friends over a pot of tea and cake. Women of today are taking more time out to enjoy quality time out experiencing simple pleasures and high tea is a lovely way to do so.
“After many years travelling to Paris and experiencing high tea in fine tea houses, I felt it was time to for me to bring a little bit of Paris to Australia,” she adds.
For fans of the range there are plans to add to the collection with accessories and table decorations to complete the experience.
