Ravioli, a savoury Italian staple on many menus since at least the 14th century, is becoming increasingly popular as a sweet treat filled with fruit preserves, chocolate and/or ricotta or mascarpone mixtures and either baked or flash fried and dusted with icing sugar.

And with the current passion for home-made pasta, this made-with-love ravioli―sweet or savoury―is a week-night favourite plus a delicious option for entrée, main or dessert for weekend entertaining.

Marcato, the Italian family business behind the world’s most traditional domestic pasta machine, the Marcato Atlas 150, has produced the Atlas ravioli tablet with rolling pin in a range of colours.

The tablet, made from food-safe anodised aluminium alloy, is used for forming, filling, sealing and cutting 10 (5cm) square ravioli simultaneously in just minutes―no mess, no fuss and a perfect shape every time.

The tablet includes non-skid base, cutter lid, rolling pin and instructions.

Simply roll out the pasta dough―ideally having made it in the Marcato Atlas 150 pasta machine―and lay over the base of the tablet. Add chosen filling, place another layer of pasta dough over the top and then the cutter lid. Roll the pin over the cutter lid to seal and cut the ravioli.

The Marcato ravioli tablet makes the whole process extremely quick and very simple.  After use the tablet and accessories can be wiped clean with a dry brush or cloth.

Atlas ravioli tablets retail for $169 each.
